What are cookies?
Cookies are text files that, while browsing a site with a web browser, can be saved on the navigation device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.). The minimum information contained in a cookie is the name of the website (the domain or IP address of the site) from which the cookie itself comes, its ‘duration’ (that is, the indication of the moment in which it expires) and a value which, most of the time, is a random sequence of characters.
On the AboutCookies.org site you can find much more information about cookies and how they affect your browsing experience.
Are there different types of cookies?
Different types of cookies are used on websites, depending on the specific functional objectives. Below is a list of these types of cookies with an indication of the purposes for which they are used.
Session cookies (temporary): session cookies are temporarily stored in the computer memory, for example, to keep track of the language chosen for navigation. Session cookies remain stored on the computer until the web browser in which the website was consulted is closed.
Persistent or tracking cookies: Persistent cookies save a file on your computer for a long period of time defined by the ‘duration’ field. These cookies allow websites to remember information and settings on subsequent visits by users, thus making browsing more practical and rapid, since, for example, it is no longer necessary to indicate a username and password to log in. On the expiration date, the cookie is automatically deleted when you first log into the website that created it.
First-party cookies: these cookies are set directly by the websites consulted by the user (the domain indicated is the same as the one in the address bar of the web browser) and can only be read by these sites. They are commonly used to store information, such as preferences, to be used in subsequent accesses. They can be both sessional and permanent.
Third-party cookies: these cookies are set by domains other than the one indicated in the address bar of the web browser, that is, by organizations that do not correspond to the owners of the websites.
For example, these cookies can be used to collect information for advertising and content personalization purposes, as well as to process web statistics.
Essential cookies: those cookies that are essential to allow the user to move around the site and use the services requested are indicated as “indispensable” such as, for example, to manage the registration phase and access by users to the reserved area of a site.
These cookies are generally first-party and can be permanent or session.
Performance cookies: these cookies collect information on how users use a site, for example, which pages are visited or if you receive error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor, all information collected through cookies they are aggregated and, therefore, anonymous. The purpose of these cookies is only the improvement of the site.
Functionality cookies: these cookies allow the site to remember the choices made by the user (such as name, language or region of origin) and provide customized advanced features. They can also be used to provide services such as watching a video or commenting on a blog. The information collected by these types of cookies can be made anonymous and unable to monitor your browsing activity on other websites.
Technical cookies: these are session and / or functional and / or indispensable cookies that allow users to select certain navigation parameters and performance cookies used by site managers to collect information in aggregate form on the number of users and on how they visit the sites.
Profiling cookies: these are cookies used in order to send promotional messages in relation to the preferences expressed by users in the navigation carried out or to the specific sections visited.
If you decide to close the banner by clicking on the appropriate approval button, the site will store a cookie on your computer that will prevent the banner from being displayed during subsequent accesses (users will always have the possibility to remove cookies through the browser settings).

How to disable cookies in the web browser?
Cookies can be limited or blocked through specific browser settings, so if a user intends not to store some cookies on his computer, he can appropriately configure his web browser. The user can in fact choose to block all cookies or only some specific ones. At any time, the user can choose to delete the cookies stored on their navigation device.
The settings must be changed separately in each browser and computer used.
If the cookies have been blocked, correct functioning of the website cannot be guaranteed. Some functions may not be available and it may no longer be possible to view some pages.
It is important to note that blocking cookies does not eliminate the display of any advertisements. They will simply no longer be tailored to your interests.
To disable cookies on a smartphone or tablet, the user can consult the manual of these devices to find more information.
Each web browser provides a particular procedure for modifying the management of cookies. If necessary, to provide correct settings, the user can consult the help of his browser.
Is there more?
Given the dynamic nature of the Web, it is not always possible to be able to control the cookies that are stored by third parties through a website.
This is especially true in the cases of objects embedded in the Web pages consulted by the user. These objects are for example: texts, documents, images or videos that are stored on third-party servers.
The user is therefore requested to report to our references and / or email the presence of a cookie of this type not present in the list above. Alternatively, the user can directly contact the interested third parties and ask for information on the cookies they send, for what purposes, what is their duration and how they guarantee the privacy of users.
Any changes to the site or to the legislation relating to cookies
